It’s comforting to know as each day passes, I am but one day closer to death, and one day closer to the day people can no longer ask me computer questions.

LDAP Contextless Login

Cyrus in Client, Novell

Do not use the old cxlog registry edit for contextless login anymore. Use LDAP contextless login instead.

Go to Novell client properties.
Select LDAP Contextless Login Tab.
Click Enable LDAP Treeless Login and Contextless Login.
Add clog to the servers field click add.
Click Settings.
Enable search on Given Name, Surname, etc. etc.

For the person that asked CLOG is a DNS entry that points to our eDirectory server. That server is set up to allow anonymous browsing of a few fields and a few containers. Not sure thats the right way to do it but it works.

Then have a nice day!
